| These summaries contain only the basic change rules for most non-refundable tickets as listed in the carriers' Direct Reference System (DRS) files or news releases as of September 11, 2002. For the airlines listed, the standard Change Fee for domestic tickets is $100 and the standard penalty for international tickets is $100- $200 depending on the fare type and destination. However, these fees and rules may vary in certain markets depending on competitive conditions. | ||||

For non-refundable
tickets issued on or after Aug 30, 2002 for travel on or after
Oct 1, 2002 Changes must be made on or before scheduled departure date of the ticket or the ticket has no value. Changes may be made to the nonrefundable itineraries before scheduled departure date, subject to certain restrictions and fees. In many cases, but not all, international tickets may be changed. Typically a fee of at least $150 may apply, plus any applicable fare differential. Not all international tickets are changeable. Check for further details.
For nonrefundable tickets issued on
or before August 29, 2002, in most cases, the value of the
nonrefundable ticket may be used towards the purchase of another
nonrefundable ticket for the same traveler for up to 12 months
from the original purchase date. There is a change fee for
providing this service which may vary depending on the fare
purchased.
If the new
ticket has a higher cost than the original ticket, you will have
to pay an additional amount (the fare difference plus a change
fee). |
Effective for tickets
issued on or after Aug 30 for travel on or after Jan 1, 2003. $100 fee will apply to stand-by for an alternate flight on the ticketed day of departure. Fee applies only to fares that allow stand-by travel. Fee does not apply to refundable fares to stand-by on ticketed day of departure. |
Effective immediately,
corporate discounts
will no longer be applied to Q, V, N and L fare classes. The
policy applies
to all U.S. and Canada point of sale corporate contracts for
domestic and international travel. AA no longer allow waivers on fare rules including but not limited to: * Advance
purchase AA will no longer be granting Fare Rule Waivers on any fare. This applies to North America and all international markets. |

For non-refundable tickets issued on or after Sep 6, 2002 for travel on or after Oct 1, 2002 Changes must be made, prior to scheduled departure date of each flight segment and subject to the applicable fees. Air Canada and/or Air Canada Jazz non-refundable fares for travel within Canada, U.S., and Hawaii must be used for the schedule date of departure. After the departure date, non-refundable tickets will have no value and cannot be changed or used for any future travel. Taxes are refundable as per current policy. |
Same day stand-by continues to apply as per applicable fare rules. | ||

$20 - For tickets issued on or
after Aug 20, 2002 Applies to paper tickets issued in the U.S., Puerto Rico and the USVI for travel wholly within the 50 US States, Puerto Rico and the USVI. Fee will apply to original and reissued tickets. Fee does not apply to Government fares, group fares and itineraries that are not e-ticket eligible.

Oct 1, 2002 Changes must be made and processed on or before the scheduled departure date. After the departure date, the ticket will have no value. Applies to all fares in North America where electronic ticketing is available. Fee applies to tickets purchased through travel agencies, online agencies or Northwest Airlines. |
For non-refundable
tickets issued on or after Sep 5 for travel on or after Oct 1, 2002 Changes must be made on or before the scheduled departure date of each ticketed flight segment. After the originally ticketed departure time, the ticket will have no value. Rule applies to all domestic and international non-refundable fare types, except Northwest Biz Flex fares (-BIZ and -BZ fares). In many cases, but not all, international tickets may be changed for a fee of at least $150.00, plus any applicable fare differential. Not all international tickets are changeable. Northwest will
continue to offer passengers on domestic fares the option to
stand-by for flights on the same day as originally ticketed at no
charge.

For
non-refundable tickets issued on or after Aug 27, 2002 Changes to non-refundable fares must be made and re-ticketed prior to the departure time of each ticketed flight segment. Otherwise, the ticket has no further value. Applies to non-refundable fares for all US Airways, domestic, Caribbean, U.S. to and from Canada, U.S. to Europe destinations. NZ fares will have a validity of one year and, if unused, may be put toward another fare minus any applicable change fee. In many cases, but not all, international tickets may be changed for a fee of at least $150.00, plus any applicable fare differential. Not all international tickets are changeable. Tickets issued for
travel on or after Jan. 1, 2003 $100 fee will apply for stand-by for an alternate flight on the ticked day of departure. Other restrictions may apply. No stand-by travel permitted to NZ fares until Jan 1, 2003, thereafter the $100 same day stand-by fee will apply. |
Effective
immediately, corporate discounts for fares booked in the
non-refundable H, K, and V fare classes will no longer be
applied. Customers ticketed on non-refundable fares will continue to earn Dividend Miles credit. Effective for travel on or after Jan 1, 2003, miles and segments earned on most non-refundable fares will not count toward Dividend Miles, Chairman's Preferred, Gold Preferred, and Silver Preferred status.
